A native of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Dr. Wilson attended Kentucky Wesleyan College where he majored in physics and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from University of Louisville in 1988, graduating in the top ten percent of his class, and was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed a three-year ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. 
       Dr. Wilson proudly served as an ophthalmologist in the United States Air Force from 1992-1996 and has been a member of the Columbus medical community since then. 
       Dr. Wilson is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been named One of America's Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumer's Research Council of America.
       Dr. Wilson and his wife Kathy have raised three children. They enjoy the outdoors, hiking and wildlife photography. In the summer, Dr. Wilson can be found on Columbus softball fields trying (unsuccessfully) to recapture his youth.
A baseball enthusiast, Dr. Wilson has had three books published, one of which, The Bird: The Life and Legacy of Mark Fidrych, briefly held the top spot on Amazon's list of top-selling baseball books.
       Dr. Wilson donates professional services to Bartholomew County Volunteers in Medicine and has participated in medical missions to Mexico.
